Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I have to buy the CD before I purchase anything else?

A: No, you are welcome to order by the sheet, however, the CD is a better value because the sheet price drops to $3 a sheet with the CD.

Q: What do I do if my child is sick?

A: We recommend if your child is sick for you to give them time to recuperate from illness and reschedule your appointment for a later day.

Q: How do I schedule an appointment?

A: You can call the studio anytime and we will be more than happy to schedule your appointment.

Q: How long will my session take?

A: Every sitting is different, times will change depending on age and group size. We strive to keep the sitting as short as (usually around 20 minutes) possible so that we can get the best expression from your children, however we run on "kid time" and will take the time necessary to make sure you get quality portraits. After the sitting is finished it will take about 15 minutes to view and order, and 5 to 10 minutes for them to print. The entire process takes around an hour.

Q: Are there any hidden fees?

A: Never, our pricing is straight forward and simple. We hate hidden fees.

Q: Will my appointment start on time?

A: At Photo Works we strive to stay on schedule so that wait times are minimal to non-existent, however, we give all customers the same amount of time to get quality portraits. Because we specialize in children's photography we run on "kid time", so there may be times that there is a small wait time.

Q: What if my child is having a bad day or not cooperating?

A: We want to make sure that you get exactly what your looking for at Photo Works so if your child is having a bad day, we are happy to reschedule for a later time the same day or for a different day.

Q: What is the best age to do newborn pictures?

A: For newborn pictures we recommend coming in between one and three weeks old. There is much more that we can do with the portraits at this young age because of the infant's temperament and size.

Q: What should my newborn wear to the studio?

A: Whatever you would like! We do many newborn portraits with the infant in their diaper or naked. However it is totally up to you what you want to dress your child in for pictures and your photographer will give you suggestions and feedback when you come in for your sitting.

Q: How can I best prepare my child prior to my appointment?

A: This is a difficult question. Every child is different. Here are some suggestions that we have for our customers:
- Arrive at the studio early, this gives your child time to adjust to the studio environment and interact with the staff prior to the sitting.
- Come napped, and fed. plan your session around nap times, feedings and snack times.
- If possible bring them dressed in the outfit they are going to get portraits in.
Sometimes, changing a child's clothes right before the sitting can make them upset.

Q: How many clothing changes can I have?

A: We usually recommend two to three outfit changes. however you may change their outfit as many times as you would like.
